solis

Privacy

Solis is built so there is very little to write here. The app keeps your mornings on your phone and has no account to sign in to. This page says exactly what leaves your device, what the website collects, and how to get rid of any of it.

The short version

  • There is no account. You never give Solis a name, an email or a password to use the app.
  • Your alarms, your mornings and your streak live on your phone. They are not uploaded.
  • Nothing is sold, rented or shared with advertisers. There is no advertising in Solis.
  • There is no tracking across apps or websites, and no third-party analytics inside the app.
  • The website sets no cookies.

What the iPhone app keeps, and where

Everything the app knows about you is stored on your own device: your alarms, the mornings you have completed, your streak, your sleep goal, the apps you chose to lock, and the barcode you registered if you use that mission. None of it is sent to Solis or anywhere else.

Some of that needs permission from iOS, and each one is used on the device and nowhere else:

  • Motion counts your squats and steps so the alarm can be turned off. The counting happens on the phone and the readings are not stored or sent.
  • Camera is used only by the barcode mission, to read the code you registered. No photo or video is recorded, kept or transmitted.
  • Location is used to work out your sunrise and sunset so the sky in the app matches the real one. The calculation runs on your phone with no network call, and your coordinates never leave it. Refuse it and Solis falls back to clock hours.
  • Screen Time is what locks the apps you picked after a mission. Apple's design means Solis is never told which apps you chose or what you use them for; it only hands the system an opaque token.
  • Notifications deliver the wind-down reminder and let you know when your morning lock has lifted.

The community totals

The app shows how many mornings everyone using Solis has had between them. To do that, each finished morning sends three numbers to our server: one morning, the minutes of snoozing avoided, and the minutes your phone stayed locked. Alongside them goes a random one-off identifier whose only job is to stop a retry counting the same morning twice.

That identifier is not a device id and is not tied to you or to any other morning. It is deleted after a week. The totals themselves are three running integers. There is no way, from what is stored, to work out who sent what — including by us.

The website

  • The waitlist. If you give us your email address, we store it with Resend and use it to tell you when Solis opens, and occasionally to say how the build is going. That is all it is used for. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove you at any time.
  • Payment. Founding memberships are taken by Stripe. Stripe receives your card and billing details directly and we never see or store them. We see that a payment was made and the email you gave Stripe, so we can contact you and honour a refund.
  • Analytics. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. We see how many people visited a page, not who they are.
  • Hosting. The site runs on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for a short period, as every web host does.

Cookies

The website does not set cookies and does not store anything on your device for tracking. If that ever changes — if we add an advertising pixel, for instance — this page will say so and you will be asked first where the law requires it.

Getting your data removed

  • In the app: deleting Solis from your phone deletes everything it holds. There is no account left behind, because there was never one to begin with.
  • The community totals: there is nothing to delete, because nothing stored there is connected to you.
  • The mailing list: use the unsubscribe link in any email, or write to sam@getsolis.co and we will remove you and confirm it.
  • A founding purchase: write to sam@getsolis.co. We keep the record of the sale for as long as tax and accounting rules require, and delete what we are not obliged to keep.

Depending on where you live you may also have the right to ask for a copy of what we hold, to correct it, or to object to how it is used. Write to sam@getsolis.co and we will answer within 30 days.

Children

Solis is not for children. It is for people aged 16 and over, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone younger. If you believe a child has given us their email address, write to sam@getsolis.co and we will delete it.

Changes, and how to reach us

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it and anyone on the mailing list is told. Solis is run by Solis Morning Co. LLC in Arizona, United States. Questions about any of this go to sam@getsolis.co, and a person answers.
